Newest Russian boat Lider to appear at Interpolitekh exhibition

Russian multipurpose boat RSV12M Lider unique in navigability was presented at Interpolitekh-2009 exhibition for the first time.

"The boat was ordered by EMERCOM, built at Rybinsk shipyard in five months and put afloat on Aug 16", said Artyom Brum, chief designer of the project. "In fact, it is a submarine boat capable to dive down to 10 meters and recover its buoyancy from any position", added the designer.

Lider have been at disposal of Gosakvaspas (State Rescue Service for Special Purpose Underwater Works) for two weeks and took part in search-and-rescue operations, said Brum. According to him, rescuers deservedly assessed the vessel, although had some claims which are being eliminated during construction of second Lider-type vessel. It will be put afloat in May 2010.

Patrol and search, rescue, pilot, general service boat Lider is capable to accelerate up to 35 knots at any weather conditions. The boat has motor pump with pumpage capacity of 5 tonnes per 10 minutes. It extinguishes fire with 90-m water jet. Lider is also equipped with Paramedic-type handbarrow for transportation of critically wounded personnel and life-saving elevators. Sea endurance is three days for four crewmembers. The boat is capable to carry up to 14 passengers.
