Putin to discuss supplying of Navy with new equipment 18.12.2009
Today Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held a meeting at Admiralteyskie Verfi shipyard in St. Petersburg. The subject is supplying of Navy with modern arms and equipment in the context of Russian Armed Forces reformation, reports ITAR-TASS referring to press service of the Russian Government.

Among attendants of the meeting were Russian vice-premiers Igor Sechin and Sergei Ivanov, Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdiukov, representatives of relevant ministries and services, directors of leading shipyards and design bureaus.

Vladimir Putin also visited launching ceremony of arctic tanker Kirill Lavrov built by Admiralteyskie Verfi by order of Sovkomflot. The ship will be used in severe conditions of arctic climate for whole-year shipment of crude from Prirazlomnoye oilfield. The shipment is to be started next year.

During his official travel to St. Petersburg, the premier also visited historic building of head office of Russian Geographical Society (RGS) at Grivtsov Lane. In November Vladimir Putin became the head of RGS guardianship board.
