Russian Navy HQ moves to St. Petersburg 09.02.2010
Russian Navy's Main Headquarters headed by Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, Navy Commander-in-Chief will move from Moscow to St. Petersburg by the end of 2010, reports Interfax referring to the top-ranking source in Russian Navy Command.

"The move which active phase is to begin in July will succeed radical optimization of the Navy's control structure starting on March 1", said the source.

According to him, most of staff reduction will be about Navy Command and Control Center which had markedly enlarged by a number of new services.

Move of certain organizations and control agencies not affecting the Navy's combat readiness will be continued next year and completely finished in 2012.
