Top-five list except the U.S. and Russia includes Germany, France and the UK. As for SIPRI, world's arms sales growth made 22% during five recent years.

39% of American arms export falls on military aviation. Its portion in Russian arms export makes 40%.

In previous report of 2001-2005 SIPRI rated Russia as a leader of arms market. Moscow's share was 31% of arms delivery while the U.S. occupied second place with 30%.

Scope of arms export to Middle East, North Africa, South America, South and Southeast Asia gives evidence of armament race in those regions, say SIPRI experts. For instance, 65% of American arms export falls on countries of Asian-Pacific and Middle East regions.
