BSF is offered to switch into anti-piracy

BSF is offered to switch into anti-piracy 24.03.2010
Crimean naval base of Russia's Black Sea Fleet (BSF) should be transformed into International Antiterror Center, informs Rosbalt referring to Mikhail Pashkov, director of international programs of Razumkov Center of Economic and Political Researches.

"Obviously, today we should think about transformation of BSF naval base in Crimea", said Pashkov.

According to him, the naval base has been and will be the source of conflict situations.

"That is why Russia and Ukraine must together consider transformation of this base into International Antiterror Center like those centers currently fighting piracy", concluded the expert.

We recall that Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich previously said that prolongation of Russo-Ukrainian agreement on Black Sea Fleet naval base in Sevastopol was not improbable.

There is an opinion that in exchange Ukraine would require reduction of delivery price for Russian gas.
