Russian and Greek navies will conduct joint exercise this year, reported Irina Kovalchuk, press secretary of Russian defense minister.
"15 activities with participation of Russian and Greek servicemen are scheduled in 2010, including exchange of delegations, mutual visits of ships, and joint naval exercise with warships of the two countries", said Mrs. Kovalchuk.
The meeting between Russian and Greek defense ministers Anatoly Serdiukov and Evangelos Venizelos took place in Moscow on Tuesday.
According to Kovalchuk, negotiating parties attended to issues of military technical cooperation; in particular, to aftersales service of military equipment.
"Post-warranty service works on Tor-M1 and Osa SAM systems are going quite satisfactorily; the contract on air cushion landing craft Zubr is being prepared for conclusion", said Kovalchuk citing the minister.
Russia had previously sold four Zubr-type ships to Greece.
Russian party also offered to consult Greece in fire practice procedures of S-300 SAM system, pointed out Kovalchuk.
Besides, the parties touched upon a delivery of BMP-3M infantry fighting vehicles to Greek armed forces.
"Contractual documents are being presently prepared", said the press secretary.
