Frigate Yaroslav Mudry started her first cruise 06.04.2010
Last summer new frigate Yaroslav Mudry having passed 10-day sea trials was delivered to Baltic Fleet.

Yaroslav Mudry is multipurpose frigate designed for antiship and antisubmarine defense of warships; delivering strikes against enemy's surface ships at sea and at bases; search and destruction of enemy's submarines; support of land forces; covering landing troops. This ship is same type with famous frigate Neustrashimy presently called as "pirate-chaser". In her turn, Yaroslav Mudry is equipped with newer navigation systems and state-of-the-art weapons.

The frigate will escort nuclear-powered missile cruiser Petr Veliky to the Mediterranean. Then Yaroslav Mudry will be shifted by Black Sea Fleet warship and head home to Baltiysk. Training interaction with other fleets' forces is one of the primary tasks for the frigate's first ocean cruise.

Crew integration in long-range cruise will be also trained. The frigate will conduct a number of combat drills.
