This is a reciprocal visit of Norwegian General to Russia. In Oct 2009 Vice Admiral Nikolai Maksimov, Northern Fleet (NF) Commander visited Norway on invitation of Gen. Lt. Bernt Bruvold. Maksimov visited Main Operational Command headquarters in Reitan, Norwegian Naval Base Hokonsvern, and Main Center of Rescue Operations in Bodo.
The program of today's visit includes demonstration of NF marine's capabilities, defense exhibition, and training firings. The Norwegian General will visit NF warships, a nuclear submarine, and attend protocol activities in the NF main base Severomorsk.
One of the key events of the visit will be summing up of the joint Russian-Norwegian exercise
