The flagship of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) Guard missile cruiser Moskva which returns from Pacific Fleet paid an official call at Malaysian port Kelang.
The ship's crew was greeted by Ludmila Vorobiova, Russian ambassador to Malaysia. According to her, Kuala Lumpur knows that
Moskva had successfully attended naval exercise
Vostok 2010 and was heading homeward. "We are proud that Russian Navy's ensign is streaming in wind of Kelang and are glad to see this powerful warship with Russian sailors aboard. We wish you success and safe return home", she concluded. On board the ship a consultation was held on security matters of the cruiser's stay with participation of representatives of Russian military attaché, harbor authorities, Malaysian naval officers, and local police. Later on, the cruiser's command visited Malaysian Navy Hydrographic Center and administration of Kelang port.
During the stay in Kelang, the BSF flagship was visited by cadets of Malaysian national military university; an excursion was arranged for the guests.
The cruiser will stay at the port for three days. This period is enough to replenish fuel and water supplies, and the crew will have time for rest.
