Venezuelan sailer breaks through ice to St. Petersburg

The ship has overcome ice obstacles and arrived in St. Petersburg at 10 am Apr 21. As for Venezuelan military attaché in Russia Nestor Colina, the major purpose of the visit is to deliver regards from president Chavez to St. Petersburg people and Russians in general.

Supposedly, the ship would be open for public in accordance with following schedule:

Apr 22 (Friday) since 2 pm till 7 pm
Apr 23 (Saturday) since 1 pm till 7 pm
Apr 24 (Sunday) since 1 pm till 7 pm
Apr 25 (Monday) since 10 am till 5 pm
Apr 26 (Tuesday) since 10 am till 7 pm

According to information available to Central Navy Portal, a press-conference must be held tonight with participation of the ship's commanding officer Capt 1 rank Carlos Alberto Martin and Venezuelan military attaché in Russia Nestor Colina.

Recall that Venezuelan training ship Simon Bolivar conducts a 100-day long international cruise via ports of Portugal, Germany, Russia, and Spain. According to initial plans, the Venezuelan sailer was supposed to moor in St. Petersburg as early as Tuesday morning, but severe ice situation in the Gulf of Finland caused unpredictable delay.
