Officers of the newest Borei-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) Alexander Nevsky were triumphantly admitted as members of the Saint Petersburg Submariners' Club on Dec 8, the club's chairman Capt 1 Rank Igor Kurdin told Central Navy Portal.

The ceremony was held on Dec 8, the club's foundation day, and took place in the Marble Hall of the Ethnographic Museum.

Leadership of the club took the opportunity and invited the sub's crewmembers to its birthday. Admittance of new members is annual tradition of the club. In this year, they are seven officers of SSBN Alexander Nevsky led by the sub's commanding officer Capt 1 Rank Dmitry V. Nesterov.
