Memorable activities associated to Northern Fleet SSN Kursk perished 10 years ago will be held in Russian Navy on Thursday, said a Navy spokesman at press conference in Moscow.
SSN Kursk wrecked because of onboard torpedo explosion; all 118 submariners died.
"This day of the 10th anniversary of died Kursk crew will be honored by minute of silence at all warships, military units, and naval institutions; all Russian Navy's ensigns will be half-masted", the Navy official said.
A wreath-laying ceremony took place at Northern Fleet (NF) in Motovsky Bay, the Barents Sea. NF high-ranking officials, relatives and families of lost submariners attended the ceremony.
In Moscow wreaths were laid on the monument to the Kursk crew located in front of Russian Armed Forces Central Museum. A documentary in remembrance of died submariners will be shown in the Central Museum.
Memorial actions were held in Tushinsky Park, on the pier near the Submarine B-396 Museum; among attendants were representatives of Navy command, public organization "Admirals' Club", veterans of Russian Navy, servicemen, and relatives of died submariners.
In St. Petersburg the submariners' remembrance ceremony took place at the Serafimovskoye Cemetery.
Prayer service in honor of lost crew of SSN Kursk was conducted in orthodox churches of Russia.
