According to ASDReports.com, in 2011-2011 the world's overall spendings for submarines will grow 1.22% per year. Submarines constitute the essential part of naval forces because of their versatility and ability to supplement other strategic assets.

Forty one countries presently operate 450 submarines worldwide.

Within the coming decade, the world will purchase 154 new submarines to the amount of $186.3 bln. Portion of the US will be 47% ($87 bln). In 2011, Pentagon has spent for that purpose $16.4 bln, and in 2021 this sum will be $18.2 bln.

European countries are expected to spend $46.3 bln for procurement of new submarines (25% of the world's overall spendings).

To purchase new subs, Asian countries would spend $44 bln (23.6%).

Latin America is about to allocate $8.6 bln (4.61%) for submarines procurement. Major share of expenses will be upon Brazil and Argentine.
