Two Japanese destroyers collided in Pacific Ocean

Two destroyers of Japanese Naval Self-Defense Force collided in Pacific Ocean 130 km off Kochi Prefecture during anti-piracy exercise, said Friday informational agency Kyodo.

Collision of destroyers Oonami (displacement 4.65 tonnes) and Sawagiri (displacement 3.55 tonnes) happened at 08.45 am (02.45 am Moscow time).

Both ships suffered damages. Deck safety shield was broken at JS Oonami; JS Savagiri suffered 60-cm hole.

The crews did not suffer. The damages brought no influence on buoyancy of the ships.
