Cavils about Russia's Black Sea Fleet won't stop even after presidential election victory of Viktor Yanukovich, reports Rosbalt citing Vladimir Mamontov, head editor of Izvestiya at press conference in Sevastopol.
According to him, campaign against BSF will continue in Ukraine one way or another. "I don't mean presidential or governmental level. But one shouldn't suppose everyone urgently like Black Sea Fleet deployed here. The fleet is a serious geopolitical tool recognized as considerable force in the Black Sea region. On the other hand, Russia must fight up to the last ditch here since Sevastopol is really a city of Russian glory", said Mr. Mamontov.
Sevastopol can't go without any fleet, said editor of
Izvestiya. "If Black Sea Fleet leaves Sevastopol, Ukraine would have to either immediately build up its own navy or let foreign fleet in. Tertium non datur", explained Mamontov.
The journalist pointed out that to him, everything has been happening in Ukraine until recent time excited great pity among Russians.
According to
Rosbalt, Vladimir Mamontov came to Crimea to take part in panel discussion on following subject: "Ukraine and Russia: how to clear media heap after information war?".
