Somali pirates have released a Bermudan-flagged fridge ship in exchange for a two-and-a-half-million-dollar ransom. All 25 crewmembers, 23 Sri Lankans, a Filipino and a Syrian, are reported alive and well. The Talka was seized on the 23rd of March 120 nautical miles off Oman. It was on its way from Egypt to Iran. According to East African maritime authorities, the Somali-based pirates are holding at least 19 international ships with over 350 crew on board.
