The whereabouts of Russian sailors from the North Spirit ship who were seized by pirates off Cameroon on May 16th are unknown. Reports from the Russian consulate in Cameroon say no one has contacted them about the sailors and no demands have been made. According to the Russian Consul in Cameroon Konstantin Lobko, the search for the sailors is on but it has produced no results. Russia is maintaining contact with the Cameroon authorities and with the sailors' relatives. A group of 20 armed people boarded the North Spirit on May 16th. The pirates took mobile phones, laptops, money and other valuable possessions. They forced the captain and first engineer into their boat at gunpoint and took them to an unknown destination.
