Ka-52 helicopters will be based on Mistral-type carriers which Russia plans to purchase from France, reported Gen. Col. Alexander Zelin, Russian Air Force Commander in on-air interview to Ekho Moskvy radio.

"Mistrals will be equipped with our helicopters Ka-52", Zelin said.

Russia is about to buy four French Mistral-type ships; two of them are planned to be built in France and other two – in Russia.

Russian helicopters are the most advanced rotary-wing aircrafts and highly competitive with best foreign analogs, underlined the commander.

At the same time Gen. Col. Zelin expressed regret that Russian UAVs did not meet requirements of Russian Air Force. "I would gladly purchase Russian-made UAVs, but unfortunately, they are not adequate to high requirements", said the officer.

He assumed that in future joint ventures would be established to produce UAVs like those imported from Israel in 2009.
