CONSTRUCTION, NAME

In 1987 the sub obtained the name of Komsomolets Tajikistana. She was laid down on April 15, 1988 at Leninsky Komsomol Shipyard (Komsomolsk-on-Amur); launched on September 3, 1988. The sub was commissioned into Soviet Navy in the same year. In 1992 the name of Komsomolets Tajikistana was abolished.

MILESTONES

In 1996 the sub was transferred from Bechevinskaya Bay to Ilyichev Bay; in 2003 – to Krashennikov Bay.
