K-335 Gepard is a Project 971M Schuka-B 3rd generation nuclear-powered attack submarine. She represents the main project of Russian attack submarines.

CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The sub was laid down on September 23, 1991 at Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk; obtained the name of Gepard on February 22, 1993; launched on September 17, 1999; commissioned in January 2002.

MILESTONES

On December 4, 1997 the sub inherited Guard flag from K-22 submarine.

In 2004 the sub was ranked as Northern Fleet's best ship in winter training period.

According to Vlast magazine, the sub was under repair as of 2007.
