B-471 Magnitogorsk is a Project 877 diesel electric submarine.

CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The submarine was laid down on October 26, 1988 under the name of B-471; launched on September 29, 1990; commissioned into Northern Fleet on December 30, 1990. The sub obtained the name of Magnitogorsk in June 2001 when she was taken under patronage of Magnitogorsk town administration.

MILESTONES

Best diesel submarine of Northern Fleet's Kola flotilla in 2005.

The sub played a role of Slavyanka submarine in Vladimir Khotinenko's film "72 meters".

In May 21-25, 2009 the sub took part in celebration of 100th anniversary of Norwegian submarine force.
