Ladny is a Project 1135 Frigate.

CONSTRUCTION

The ship was laid down on May 25, 1979 at Zaliv shipyard in Kerch, Crimea; launched on May 7, 1980; commissioned on February 25, 1981.

MILESTONES

In August 1981 the ship visited port of Varna (Bulgaria).

In July 1996 it called at port of Piraeus (Greece).

In 1991 and 1993 the ship's ASW group won the Navy Commander's Prize for ASW firing.

In 1994 the ship's group won the Navy Commander's Prize for artillery firing.

In 1994 the frigate took part in joint RF-NATO exercise.

On May 8, 1995 it participated in international naval parade in St. Petersburg associated with 50th anniversary of Soviet Union's Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In 2005-2006 it passed scheduled repair in Tuapse.

In August 2007 the ship visited Italia's main naval base Taranto and Syrian port Tartus.

In August 2008 it took part in Active Endeavour NATO anti-terror operation and visited Turkish naval base Aksaz Karagac at the Mediterranean.

Since Dec 4, 2011 till Jan 16, 2012 the ship was performing tasks of long-range cruise independently and within the interfleet carrier group; Ladny paid formal calls at ports of France, Malta, Spain, and Syrian port Tartus.
