MPK-205 Kazanets is a Project 1331M Small ASW Ship (SAS).

CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The ship was laid down on January 4, 1985 at Peene-Werft shipyard (Wolgast, GDR); launched on December 28, 1985; commissioned on October 2, 1987 under the name of MPK-205. The ship obtained the name of Kazanets in 1998 as Republic of Tatarstan took patronage over her.

MILESTONES

The ship was repeatedly rated as the best ship of naval base Leningrad.
