Volgodonsk (serial number 702) is a Project 21630 Buyan river/sea-type corvette designed to reinforce Caspian Flotilla in littoral sea zone and rivers.

CONSTRUCTION

The ship was laid down on February 25, 2005 at JSC Almaz Shipyard (St. Petersburg); launched on May 6, 2011; commissioned on December 20, 2011.

MILESTONES

Russian naval ensign was hoisted on the ship took place in St. Petersburg on June 29, 2012. Corvette Volgodonsk arrived at basing site in Astrakhan in July 2012.
