Technical completeness of recently launched Project 22350 lead frigate Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkov exceeds 40 per cent, said the ship's chief constructor Dmitry Silantiev at the launching ceremony. Basic electromechanical equipment, CODAG powerplant and gear system have been already installed in the ship.

The solemn launching ceremony was attended by VADM Fedor Smuglin, Navy Deputy Commander for Education; Mikhail Oseyevsky, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg; Mikhail Motsak, deputy presidential envoy in Northwest Federal District; Vyacheslav Popov, senator and ex-admiral; Vladimir Yukhnin, General Designer of Severnoye Design Bureau; Andrei Fomichev, Director General of Severnaya Verf shipyard.

Daughter of the famous fleet commander – Elena Gorshkova – also attended the event as honorable guest. She sincerely thanked staff of Severnaya Verf shipyard for built state-of-the-art frigate bearing the name of her father. Every speechmaker distinguished the great contribution of Admiral S.G. Gorshkov in creation of national ocean-going nuclear-missile fleet and achieving balance at sea with potential enemy. Launching of the lead frigate demonstrates wish of Russian leadership to revive Navy and make it one of the most advanced and technically developed ones. Director General of Severnaya Verf shipyard A.B. Fomichev pointed out in his speech that by the governmental decree the yard is the only supplier of Project 22350 ships; Severnaya Verf is fully workloaded with Russian Navy's orders. "There's a long-term stability, we're ready to continue working for Russian Navy", said the yard's director.
