Norwegian frigate Helge Ingstad will take part in Victory Day Parade to be held on May 9 in Russia's Northern Fleet (NF) main base Severomorsk, reported NF Commander's press secretary Vadim Serga.

"Traditional parade will be held in Severomorsk on May 9. Russian mariners will parade together with crewmen of Norwegian frigate Helge Ingstad which is to call at Severomorsk on the holiday's eve", said Serga.

Participation of foreign military delegations in the Victory Day festivities has become the fleet's tradition. Last year Severomorsk hosted French frigate Latouche-Treville.

According to Serga, preparation for military parade in Murmansk and Severomorsk has reached its closing phase. Two rehearsals have been already conducted; the final one is to be held on May 7.

"Same like in the last year, military parade in Murmansk will consist of historical and modern parts. It will start with color group carrying national flag of the Russian Federation. It will be followed by flags of the Victory, and Russian Armed Forces", said the press secretary.

It is known that the present-day part will be opened by drum company. Servicemen of 200th Infantry Brigade, crewmen of aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, NF submariners, naval aviators, marines, officers of EMERCOM, and internal troops, will parade then.

Totally, there will be 702 participants including 11 parade groups in Murmansk, and 527 men in Severomorsk.

Joint military band of aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, 200th Infantry Brigade, and 61st Marine Regiment will finish the parade in Murmansk. Military musicians will sing martial song "The Victory Day".
