Pacific Fleet task unit returned to Vladivostok

Pacific Fleet task unit returned to Vladivostok 14.06.2011

Pacific Fleet (PF) task unit consisting of large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev and salvage tug Fotiy Krylov returned to home base Vladivostok from long-range cruise on June 14; the cruise commander is Capt 1 rank Viktor Sokolov.

PF top-ranking officers, city officials, representatives of veteran and public organizations of Vladivostok took part in the welcome ceremony on the pier. The ships had been at sea for almost 1.5 months and called at ports of Singapore, Indonesia, and China.

During the friendly visit to Singapore our sailors participated in the IMDEX-2011 international defense show.

Having visited Indonesia, PF servicemen shared anti-piracy experience with their foreign colleagues at bilateral conference. Its culmination was capture of "pirate" ship demonstrated by PF marine unit. Afterwards, ships of the both countries held joint maneuvering and communication drills.

Also, the task unit paid a visit to Chinese port Shanghai to replenish fuel and food supplies.

Attending the welcome ceremony, PF Acting Commander Rear Admiral Sergei Avakiants thanked the crews for successfully completed tasks and wished them luck in further service.
