Russian Carrier Admiral Kuznetsov Gears Up for Training Flights 04.09.2012

Northern Fleet (NF) aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov sailed for the Barents Sea to prepare for air wing training flights.

Among scheduled tasks, it is planned to measure magnetic fields of the ship and test serviceability of all systems maintaining flights of Su-33 fighters.

In addition, the carrier's crew will hold damage control drills and practice maneuvering in heavy traffic zones.

For the crew of Admiral Kuznetsov, this exercise is a preparation for coming all-round combat training activities with participation of NF surface ship divisions, submarines, naval aircraft, and coast defense force.
