Task groups of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) and Pacific Fleet (PF) keep on accomplishing tasks at assigned regions in accordance with prescheduled plans. In Dec 2012, they will be deployed together near the Horn of Africa and in the Gulf of Aden.

BSF task group consisting of Guard missile cruiser Moskva and landing ship Saratov, after passing the Black Sea Straits on Nov 6 and 11 respectively, began training activities in the Aegean Sea.

The ships' crews are practicing joint maneuvering, underway air defenses, and onboard anti-terror drills.

BSF destroyer Smetlivy and seagoing tug MB-304 will join the task group upon summarizing of the IONIEX-20912 Russian-Italian naval exercise held in the Ionian Sea.

BSF replenishment oiler Ivan Bubnov is already deployed in assigned operational zone in the Mediterranean Sea. BSF landing ship Novocherkassk presently deployed in the Black Sea will join the task group soon.

PF task unit consisting of destroyer Marshall Shaposhnikov, oiler Irkut, and salvage tug Alatau is under way to the Arabian Sea. The ships are planned to arrive in the Horn of Africa region early in Dec.

Underway to the deployment zone, the ships will take part in join exercise along with Indian Navy and call at Mumbai port. The PF task unit will also visit ports of Thailand, South Korea, Djibouti, and Seychelles.
