The Day of the Navigation Officer

The Day of the Navigation Officer, a professional holiday for all sailors, was celebrated on the 25th of January at the Baltic Fleet.
A day earlier, the commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice Admiral Victor Mardysin, on the behalf of the Military Council of the Russian Navy, congratulated all sailors with the following words:
“Veterans of the navigation services of the Russian Navy, sailors, sergeants, officers, admirals, and supporting staff, we congratulate you on this 308th anniversary of the creation of the Navigation Service of the Russian Navy!”
In his message, he mentioned the immeasurable contributions to the development and constant improvement of the Baltic Fleet made by the many brave sailors of the Navigation Service in various years, such as the captains first class Boris Rumiantsev, Yuri Ivanov, Oleg Kufarev, Boris Beliakov, Roman Baltushka, Nikolai Toropov, and Alexander Zhelezniak.
Today’s Navigation Service of the Baltic Fleet, which is led by Captain First Class Eduard Lyuk, is successfully confronting the many challenges related to the preparation of ships for long trips, that of military services, and the safe tests of newly developed navigation technology.
