Single-mast yacht with two Russians on board which sailed off Los Angeles towards island state Vanuatu disappeared in the Pacific Ocean, reports online Maritime Bulletin.

The alarm was sounded by friends of the two yachties who are a man of 38 and a woman of 40, said the Maritime Bulletin. Their yacht had reached Marshall Islands.

"In May 12-15 the couple sailed off Niwa Island towards Tahiti and then disappeared. Since that time there has been no contacts with them. The yacht named Puppy is American, although the couple always flew either Russian tricolor or St. Andrew's [Russian Naval] flag", reported the source.
