Baltic Fleet (BF) Commander Vice Admiral Viktor Chirkov on Oct 10 arrived in Stockholm heading a military delegation. The visit of Russian naval officers is held on invitation of Rear Admiral Jan Thörnqvist, Chief of Staff Royal Swedish Navy within the framework of cooperation between Russian Defense Ministry and Government of the Kingdom of Sweden.

The visit will last till Oct 12. Russian officers are going to familiarize with structure of Royal Swedish Navy Staff; commanders are about to discuss bilateral cooperation between Swedish Navy and Baltic Fleet. The program includes briefings and talks on current state and development prospects for both navies in Baltic region, and discussion of officer training systems.

BF Commander VADM Viktor Chirkov will visit naval base of 1st Marine Regiment (Amf 1) located in Berga, and ships of 4th Naval Warfare Flotilla.

Recall that delegation of BF marines headed by Col Vladimir Yeremeev recently visited 1st Marine Regiment. That visit was held on invitation of the regiment commander Col Ola Truedsson.
