SSBN Novomoskovsk Returned to Base

Nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) K-407 Novomoskovsk returned to basing site, an insider in Russian defense industry told Central Navy Portal.

The submarine has passed modernization at JSC Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center and left the yard in the Friday evening starting her first cruise after recommission into Russian Navy.

Acceptance certificate of SSBN Novomoskovsk returning to the Navy after interim overhaul and modernization was signed on July 27, 2012 in Severodvinsk.

On Monday, Aug 13, the submarine headed by Capt 1 Rank Stepan Kelbas arrived at her permanent basing site in Gadzhievo, Murmansk region.
