Two new tugboats were commissioned into Baltic Fleet on March 22. A total of five Project 90600 tugboats have been built for the Baltic Fleet in 2011-2012.

The first three are already in service and another is to be built by the end of the year, it said.

Project 90600 tugs, built at the Pella shipyard in the Leningrad region, are designed to perform tug and tow operations in port, at sea and in coastal areas, fight fires on floating and onshore facilities, clean up oil spills and transport cargo.
