Russian Navy Day celebration events will commence on July 27 in the waters of Sevastopol Harbor and on the main square of the city, as reported to RIA Novosti by the first deputy chairman of the state administration in Sevastopol, Vladimir Kazarin on Tuesday.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Ogryzko announced that the celebration of Russian Navy Day will only be carried out on the Black Sea naval installations, and no citywide event will take place.

"The holiday will be a full-fledged one, with a military parade, a performance by Navy bands and a large concert on the Nakhimov Square. There will also be beautiful bright fireworks, which the Black Sea Fleet is known for." - said Kazarin.

According to the head of the Ukrainian office of political exterior, Navy Day should not be celebrated in Savastopol, because the Russian side was late in presenting the program of events to the Ukrainian Cabinet for approval.

"A certain violation of the time frame did indeed occur. However, when the Minister of Defence visited us in Sevastopol, he assured us that, given the importance of this holiday, the Ukrainian side is prepared to provide assistance to the Russians in making sure that the celebration will be of the highest rate. We have already received the Cabinet's approval for this celebration," - said Kazarin.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Vladimir Lysenko, the senior council of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine, reported to RIA Novosti, that on April 21 the Russian side had cleared all issues regarding the ship parade and the sports-military celebration of Russian Navy Day, with Sevastopol's government, in accordance with Resolution 378 of the Ukrainian Cabinet, which outlines the functioning of the Black Sea Fleet.

Kazarin also reported, that upon the Ukrainian side's request, such events and airplane and helicopter flyovers of the Sevastopol Harbor, as well as the firing of all weapons were excluded from the celebration program.

"There are rules now, both in Russia and Ukraine, which forbid the passing of aircraft over cities. Besides, you know about the recent incident in Paris, when live ammunition was accidentally used during special forces exercises and some spectators were wounded. Therefore, there will be no shooting. There will probably be an imitation of such through loudspeakers," - said the Sevastopol Governor's deputy.
