Pacific, Northern, and Black Sea fleets to participate in Vostok exercise 23.04.2010

Warships of Pacific (PF), Northern (NF), and Black Sea fleets (BSF) will take part in operational-strategic exercise Vostok to be held in summer 2010 in the Sea of Japan, reports RIA Novosti referring to Pacific Fleet HQ.

It is expected that NF flagship heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Petr Veliky and BSF flagship missile cruiser Moskva will arrive to the Peter the Great Bay after ocean cruises. Ships of the three fleets will perform firings upon sea and aerial targets; practice co-operative warfare, repelling submarine and aerial attacks, counter-piracy techniques, and rescue actions.

Task forces of Far East and Siberian military commands, Air Force, airborne forces, marines, surface ships, and submarines will attend the large-scale exercise.

Exact period of the Vostok-2010 has not been reported.
