Assessment of expenses for military operation in Libya shows that Great Britain and France used munitions and missiles to the sum exceeding $100 mln, reports Jane's Defense Weekly.

According to French defense ministry, out of EUR 53 mln overall national expenses for Operation United Protector, about EUR 31.7 mln ($45.1 mln) were spent for ammunition until May 3.

Britain's expenses for guided high-precision weapons had reached £ 43.77 mln ($71.8 mln) until May 8.

US Department of Defense did not release information on spendings for missiles and ammunition, although a DoD spokesman told to Jane's that US Armed Forces forecast their expenses as $750 mln for the period till early Sept.

Therefore, western analysts evaluate total costs of all countries attending the operation against Gaddafi's regime would reach $1 bln in the nearest time.
