Iranian stealth unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) made detailed photos of American aircraft carriers and other warships stationed in the Persian Gulf, said Gen. Farzad Esmaili, commander of Khatam al-Anbiya air defense base.
As for him, Iranian UAVs perform regular flights over the Persian Gulf and take photographs, reports Interfax.
In addition, Esmaili confuted reports of The Washington Post that CIA allegedly conducts photographing of Iranian nuclear assets by its UAVs. As for him, such monitoring had been really done but by means of US intelligence satellites.
It was reported on Apr 10 that US Navy's strike carrier group led by USS Enterprise had entered the Persian Gulf.
The group also includes a guided missile cruiser, three destroyers, a nuclear-powered attack submarine, and a supply vessel.
This carrier group operates over 60 various aircrafts including 48 fighter bombers F/A-18 Super Hornet, and more than 100 cruise missiles Tomahawk with flight range of 1,600 km.
Presently, another US carrier strike group led by USS Abraham Lincoln is deployed to the east from the gulf.
