Greece seized a military cargo intended for Iran, a Greek newspaper reported on Friday.

Four containers with 20 tonnes of a substance that could be used to build missiles have been in the custody of customs authorities at the port of Eleusis not far from Athens since December 2008, the newspaper reported. The cargo was intended for Iran and was brought to the Greek port by the cargo ship Suzanna, the newspaper wrote without indicating under which flag the cargo ship was sailing and its origin.

The Ministry of the Merchant Fleet of Greece told Ria Novosti it had no information confirming the news. The ministry of information and finance, under the authority of which the customs service operates, was likewise unable to confirm the news.
