Greek Coast Guard searches migrants in distress

Search operation of migrants suffering distress is conducted in sea near Kithira Island, south Greece, informed Greek Coast Guard on Thursday.
According to Greek Coast Guard, about 30 illegal foreigners are on board required vessel. An aircraft, rescue vessel and Coast Guard boats are taking part in the operation. Endeavour of authorities is hindered by strong wind up to 7 Beaufort numbers.
Only in 2008 about 150 000 illegal migrants were arrested in Greece, dozens died trying to reach the country's coastline.
