09.02.2009
The search for a U.S. sailor who fell off a lifeboat as it was being lowered from a U.S. Navy assault warship in the Gulf of Aden has been suspended after 24 hours.

The sailor in a lifeboat was thrown overboard during the transfer of people from the assault warship San Antonio to the cruiser Vella Gulf.

The incident took place at 8:00 a.m. under clear, sunny skies. Three sailors found themselves in the waters. All three had their life-jackets on. Two were recovered. The ship was on the move when the incident took place.
