Works on loading storage battery in Ukrainian submarine Zaporizhzhia will be completely finished till the end of the current week.

According to the sub's commander Capt 1 rank Oleg Orlov, only frosty weather in Sevastopol at the beginning of the week slowed a bit loading works of storage battery elements, although the rest of works continued despite the weather.

"Today we're going to proceed with the battery loading", said Capt 1 rank Oleg Orlov. "Only 28 elements remained; that's a question of two days".

Assembly of all battery service systems are in progress, as well as preparation of the sub for mooring trials. Submarine compartments are also being under repairs. Altiscope and attack periscope have been already installed; at present, periscope hoisting mechanisms are being adjusted.

Fitting of sonar stations, radar and its extension device is being continued; communication equipment is being installed as well.

Ukrainian Navy command has developed and approved execution plan for final stage of repairs and mooring trials of Zaporizhzhia submarine.

According to Admiral Igor Teniukh, Ukrainian Navy Commander, recovery of technical operability of Zaporizhzhia is very complicated and critical task which has become a real challenge for the country's navy.

"We're short of sufficient amount of experts. However, recovery of Zaporizhzhia and its launch is an affair of honor to us. It's going to be our common victory", said Admiral Igor Teniukh.
