Ukraine Builds Corvette Vladimir Veliky Ahead of Schedule 28.11.2012

Corvette Vladimir Veliky is being build for Ukrainian Navy at Chernomorsky Shipyard ahead of schedule, said executive director of charity organization the Ukrainian Navy Revival Fund Vadim Makhno, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

As for him, Ukraine "continues systematic financing of the project, and the Ukrainian Navy Revival Fund has already channeled over UAH 150,000 charity for the corvette building", reports the news agency.

"In particular, our fund paid designing of ventilation and cooling system for the first six compartments. The drawings were made by Ekvator design bureau and handed over to the manufacturing shipyard", Makhno said.

He added that one of Sevastopol companies was ready to produce new gun system for the corvette. As for Makhno, "it is not an experimental prototype but the system being exported to 2 countries", reports Interfax-Ukraine.
