Month of public defense information underway at Baltic Fleet

A month of public defense information related to Defender of the Motherland Day and the 20th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan was launched a while ago.

The opening ceremony took place at the Kaliningrad regional Museum of History and Art. WWII veterans and soldiers living in the capital of the Amber region, students and cadets of St Andrew The Apostle and Grand duke Alexander Nevsky Cadet corps were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

The future defenders of the Motherland were entertained on this memorable day to the movies of the Russian Army’s history, the members of military contingents of the Soviet Army who fought in Afghanistan, and present activities of the Russian Defense Sports and Techniques Organization. Boys and girls visited the museum’s exposition depicting the attack of the Kenigsberg fortress. They also watched the show of the foster children of Kaliningrad adolescent patriotic club named “Young Commandos.” The program included a performance of the band of the Border Service for the Kaliningrad branch of the Federal Security Service, the Orchestra of the Headquarters of the Baltic Fleet and the Black berets band of marine corps of the Baltic Fleet.

The vice-chairman of Kaliningrad committee of veterans of war and military service, Great War veteran Colonel B.K.Ustimenko (Ret), the deputy commander-in-chief in charge of Morale & Welfare at the Baltic Fleet, the head of department for Morale & Welfare of Baltic Fleet, Rear Admiral Vitaly Feschenko, the Chairman of the Kaliningrad regional legislature Sergey Bulychev addressed the young people.

A month of public defense information at the Baltic Fleet organized through the offices of Government, Kaliningrad and Leningrad administration will be continue.
