K-331 Magadan is a Project 971 Schuka-B 3rd generation nuclear-powered attack submarine. She represents the main project of Russian attack submarines.

CONSTRUCTION, NAME

The sub was laid down on December 28, 1989 at Leninsky Komsomol shipyard (Komsomolsk-on-Amur); launched on June 23, 1990; commissioned in 1991; obtained the name of Narval in 1993; renamed into Magadan in 2000.
