The submarine was laid down on May 5, 1990 at Leninsky Komsomol Shipyard (Komsomolsk-on-Amur) under the name of B-494; launched on October 4, 1990; commissioned in 1991. The sub obtained the name of Ust-Bolsheretsk on March 19, 2003 when she was taken under patronage by Ust-Bolsheretsk town administration.MILESTONES
