Deck-based MiG-29K fighters to be delivered for Navy

Deck-based fighters MiG-29K will be delivered for Russian Navy, said in press conference Mikhail Pogosian, vice president of United Aircraft Engineering Corporation (UAEC), Director General of RSK MiG.

"Minister of Defense issued a decree permitting delivery of those aircrafts to Russian Navy", underlined Mr. Pogosian.

In particular, MiG-29K fighters will be based on aircraft carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov alongside with Su-33 aircrafts, said the official.

"MiG-29K program will promote aviation development not only in India but in Russia as well", Pogosian underlined.

Speaking of technical characteristics of the deck-based fighters, UAEC vice president said MiG-29K is a state-of-the-art aviation system meeting both today and future requirements".

Along with Russian delegation, Mikhail Pogosian attended today a commission ceremony of MiG-29K fighters into Indian Navy held at air base Hansa, Goa.
