Crew of large ASW ship Severomorsk continues successful patrolling in the Gulf of Aden. Northern Fleet mariners began to escort another convoy consisting of nine ships flying flags of Greece, Panama, Liberia, India, Thailand, Tuvalu and Marshall Islands fr om the Red Sea to the Arabian Sea. Four of 183 sailors from convoy crews are citizens of Russia.
It is expected that on March 8 the ships will arrive to allocated area of the Arabian Sea, wh ere Northern Fleet mariners will start forming of the next convoy for escorting inversely.
Large ASW ship
Severomorsk left Baltiysk, the main base of the Northern Fleet, on January 18. From that time the ship sailed more than 12500 marine miles. The crew called on Ceuta, Spain, and Souda, Greece. The navy sailors also escorted new Russian icebreaking vessel
Vitus Bering in the Indian Ocean.
In the end of January
Severomorsk participated in the large inter-fleet training exercises of Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea and hold counter piracy exercise with NATO flagship
San Marco in the Gulf of Aden.
