A detachment of ships of the Russian Northern Navy, which is headed by the anti-submarine ship Severomorsk is finishing its mission of guarding ships from pirates in the Gulf of Aden.

Russian Navy Detachment Ends Its Anti-Pirate Mission

In the course of its mission, Severomorsk has accompanied 16 vessels under the flags of Russia, Greece, Panama, Liberia, Thailand, the Marshall Islands, India, Tuvalu, Egypt and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Besides, Severomorsk took part in Russian large-scale maneuvers in the Mediterranean Sea and in international anti-pirate maneuvers together with NATO navy’s landing ship San Marco.
