Russian warship Severomorsk continues anti-piracy patrol 17.08.2011

Russian Navy command appraises anti-piracy actions of Russian warships in the Gulf of Aden and near Horn of Africa as effective.

Large ASW ship Severomorsk securing civil shipping in those regions on Aug 17 arrived in the central part of the Arabian Sea to start forming a new convoy of merchant vessels; the convoy is going to move along intended route.

The convoy includes two ships, one under the flag of Malta, another – Marshall Islands. There are 13 Russian sailors among crews of the ships.

Meanwhile, on Aug 17 sea-going tug MB-304 finished her call to Djibouti; the tug also takes part in the anti-piracy mission within the Russian task force.
